Los Angeles Magazine conducted a survey of 31,000 doctors asking the question “Who would you choose as your doctor?” In 2010, the only two vitreo-retinal surgeons in Orange County and the Long Beach area who were selected by their peers and designated by Los Angeles Magazine as Super Doctors of Southern California were Dr. Sebag and Dr. Chong.
In 2011, LA Magazine once again designated Dr. Sebag and Dr. Chong "Southern California Super Doctors", as chosen by their peers.

Dr. Sebag and Dr. Chong are considered a pre-eminent authorities on the diagnosis and treatment of complex conditions of the eye such as:

The VMR
Institute in Huntington Beach has been a leading facility
for treatment of disorders of vitreous, macula, and retina for decades. In
addition to providing outstanding care for patients in the Huntington Beach, Los
Angeles, and Orange County areas, Dr. Sebag, and Dr. Chong also lend their
expertise and knowledge to medical professionals throughout the country and the
world.
Establishing and maintaining long-term relationships with our patients is of utmost importance to us. We achieve this by maintaining a fully-equipped center adjacent to the San Diego Freeway at Beach Boulevard. This central location makes access to the VMR Institute quicker and easier. We provide as much diagnostic and therapeutic care as possible in one visit to decrease the number of visits that may be required. Surgery can be performed close to home at any of six local hospitals, as well as in Ambulatory Surgery Centers, such as the Newport Bay Surgery Center in Newport Beach. The surgery center is built only for eye surgery and has three ORs where 22 eye surgeons perform most of their surgery. Dr. Sebag designed and built the vitreo-retinal surgery division at this state-of-the-art surgery center.

many years has advanced her from receptionist to manager, now specializing in
administration and professional relations. Mimi
can solve any problem you might have, and she will do so with kindness and
efficiency.

Javier

manages all billing, collections, authorizations, and patient accounts.
Along with her assistants Linda and Patti

department is oriented to customer service and satisfaction regarding this

Aileen Buddemeier (714-901-7777, Ext 3) has been with the VMR Institute since 2005, combining her background in photography and a
genuine interest in patient care. Aileen has completed ultrasound training at
the Johns Hopkins Medical School in Baltimore and has passed certification
testing for various aspects of clinical research.
Marta Mott (714-901-7777, Ext 5) ) has brought to the VMR Institute experience in public relations and customer service. Her professionalism and patient satisfaction orientation makes her a valuable asset for professional relations and various administrative issues, including surgical scheduling and front desk activities.
Karla Lopez (714-901-7777, Ext 1)
has been with the VMR Institute since 2006. Her extremely pleasant voice
assists patients calling the institute, while her beaming smile and friendly
demeanor warmly greet you upon arrival to the front desk for check-in.
Dieuthu Nguyen, MD (714-901-7777, Ext 3)
Dr. Nguyen is a graduate of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and
has trained as a surgeon. Her keen interest in Ophthalmology has led her to
assist the VMR Institute doctors (Sebag and Chong) - in caring for patients with
disorders of the vitreous, macula, and retina. Dr. Nguyen is fluent in
Vietnamese.
Amy Khodai (714-901-7777, Ext 4)
is in charge of clinical research at the VMR Research Center within the VMR
Institute in Huntington Beach.
TC Pham (714-901-7777,
Ext 1) is a recent graduate of the University of California San Diego. Her
education in communications and fluency in Vietnamese contribute greatly to the
experience of patients from various backgrounds, as TC is often the first person
you meet by phone and in person at the VMR Institute in Huntington Beach.
Kenneth Yee (714-901-7777, Ext 3) is a recent graduate of the University of California, San Diego in biology
and plans to become a doctor. Kenny has been with the VMR Institute since 2004,
and has mastered all aspects of patient care. His expertise in all facets of the
patient encounter make your evaluation efficient and comprehensive. His kind and
caring manner make the patient experience pleasant and comfortable. He will make
