VMR Institute welcomes Dr. Wayne Gui

The VMR Institute for Vitreous Macula Retina is pleased to welcome Dr. Wei “Wayne” Gui as the newest member of our organization.

Dr. Gui graduated with great distinction (magna cum laude) and with highest honors in research from Cornell University in New York. He then attended Yale University School of Medicine, where he obtained his MD degree in 2014.

Since then, Dr. Gui has resided in Southern California, pursuing internship training at Harbor-UCLA, and Ophthalmology residency training at Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA. Dr. Gui performed exceptionally well as a UCLA resident and he was offered the coveted position of vitreo-retinal fellow at Jules Stein, where he once again excelled and received the 2019 Jules Stein Eye Institute Fellow Excellence in Research Award.

Upon graduating in 2020, Dr. Gui joins Dr. Sebag and Dr. Chong at the VMR Institute for Vitreous Macula Retina in Orange County where he will provide the entire spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic services for diseases of the vitreous, macula, and retina with compassion and precision.

Dr. Gui is an avid tennis player and loves traveling, photography, and spending time with family. He is fluent in Mandarin and enjoys learning about different cultures and experiences.
