On Wednesday, August 20th, the VMR Institute held yet another informative lecture as part of its 2014 Lecture Series. Dr. Chong, the keynote speaker, Wednesday night centered around the pathophysiology of retinal tears and detachments. Attendees were informed how to suspect a retinal tear or detachment from patients symptoms. They also learned which retinal abnormalities predispose patients to retinal tears or detachments. Indications for prophylaxis of these retinal abnormalities was discussed. To conclude the lecture, Dr. Chong explained the present management of retinal detachment.
